Sunshine China Travel ("this site", "we", "our") is a personal, independent travel guide written by Sunshine. This policy explains what information is — and is not — collected when you visit, and your rights over it.

1. Information we do not collect

This site is built as static pages. We do not run accounts, logins, comment systems, or newsletter sign-ups. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

2. Information collected automatically

Like nearly all websites, some information is transmitted automatically when you load a page:

  • Hosting logs. This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request for security, performance, and abuse prevention. Cloudflare's own privacy practices apply to that processing.
  • Web fonts. Pages load the "Plus Jakarta Sans" font from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches the font, Google may receive your IP address and other technical data. You can block Google Fonts with a browser extension; the site remains fully readable without it.
  • Anonymous trip-help signals. On the My Trip Help page, we count which quick-help problem category or preparation guide you open and whether you mark a preparation check ready. This helps us identify which real problems and guides need improvement. We do not send the passport country, arrival date, cities, or any free-text travel details from the planner with these signals.

3. Advertising and cookies

If Google-served advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, IP addresses, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. Where consent is required by law, a consent notice will be shown before non-essential advertising cookies are used. You can learn more about Google's use of data in its privacy information and manage relevant advertising choices in your Google account.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser or device to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

4. Third-party links

Some pages contain affiliate links to services such as VPNs, eSIMs, travel insurance, and booking platforms. When you click one and leave this site, those third parties' own privacy policies apply. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, how those third parties handle your data.

5. Email contact

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not add it to any mailing list or share it with anyone.

6. Children's privacy

This site is a general travel guide and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because we hold no user accounts and no personal data beyond direct email correspondence, there is typically nothing to access or delete. To exercise any right, or to ask a question, contact us and we will respond promptly.

We may update this policy if the site's features change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
